Lab Work Scheduled for this Week and Beyond:
- Reading an A⁄C condensing unit schematic
- Using your meter, prove that the high limit switch within your assigned non-running furnace is good. Remember to check using your “finger” tester before testing. Do the same for at least one roll out switch. ** See instructor first! ** Turn on the furnace. Using your meter verify the state of a rollout switch. Is it open or closed? How can you tell?
- ** See the instructor first! ** Using an alligator lead (supplied by your instructor), turn on the fan without using the thermostat. Afterward, turn on the heat circuit without using the thermostat. Describe why this works. How can you use this technique out in the field?
- Recover, pressure test, evacuate and recharge an EPA Type I appliance (textbook pages 168+).
